Getting to Jaipur from Melbourne

Traveling from Melbourne (Australia) to Jaipur (India) typically involves a connecting flight, as there are no direct flights between these two cities. Here’s an overview of your options:

By Air (Connecting Flights)

• Duration:
Approximately 14-18 hours of total flight time, depending on the layovers.

• Airlines:
Popular airlines for this route include;
~ Emirates: Often connects via Dubai (DXB), with a flight duration of about 14 hours to Dubai, followed by a 3-4 hour flight to Jaipur.
~ Qatar Airways: Typically connects through Doha (DOH), with a flight time of 13-14 hours to Doha, followed by a 3-4 hour flight to Jaipur.
~ Singapore Airlines: A connection through Singapore (SIN) with a layover, then a flight to Jaipur (approximately 3 hours).
~ Air India: Can also connect via Delhi or Mumbai, with a domestic flight from these cities to Jaipur.

• Booking Tip:
It is often more economical to book a multi-leg flight with one stop, as the total cost of flying from Melbourne to Jaipur with one or two layovers can vary based on the airline and route.

Visa Requirements
Australian citizens will need an Indian Tourist Visa for their stay. You can apply for an e-Visa online or a regular visa depending on the duration of your stay.

Additional Travel Tips

• Layover: Depending on the airline and route, layovers can range from 2 to 10 hours. Consider a longer layover if you wish to explore your layover city.
• Arrival in Jaipur: Jaipur’s Sanganer Airport (JAI) is about 12 km from the city center. You can take a taxi, prepaid cab, or hotel shuttle for transfer to your accommodation if you are arriving before 4 December.

Our Recommendation:
For the most comfortable and efficient journey, choose a flight with a connection in Dubai or Doha, as these airports have frequent connections to Jaipur.

Getting to Jaipur From Delhi

To travel from Delhi to Jaipur, you have multiple convenient options depending on your preferences for speed, comfort, and budget.

1. By Car
• Distance: 280 km (about 5-6 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions).
• Route: The most common route is via the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway (NH 48), which is well-maintained and offers a smooth drive.

• Travel Tip:
If you want a more comfortable experience, you can rent a car or book a private taxi. Alternatively, for a more relaxed journey, a private car with a chauffeur can be arranged.

2. By Train

• Duration:
4-5 hours, depending on the train.
• Popular Trains:
~ Shatabdi Express: One of the fastest and most comfortable options.
~ Rajdhani Express: A premium service with high comfort and amenities.
~ Ajmer Shatabdi and Intercity Express
• Booking: Tickets can be booked through IRCTC or at the station. Train stations in Delhi like New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station (NZM) have frequent trains to Jaipur.

3. By Bus
• Duration: 5-6 hours.
• Options: Luxury buses, Volvo buses, and state-run buses are available.
• Departure Points: Buses leave from major locations in Delhi, such as Kashmiri Gate ISBT and New Delhi Railway Station.
• Booking: Tickets are available online (e.g., via RedBus, MakeMyTrip) or at the bus terminal.

4. By Flight
• Duration: Approximately 1 hour flying time.
• Airlines: There are several daily flights between Delhi International Airport (IGI) and Jaipur International Airport (JAI).
• Booking: Airlines like IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet offer direct flights. Though the flight time is short, considering check-in time and the time spent at the airport, this might not save much time over train or car travel.

Our Recommendation:
For comfort and speed, the Shatabdi Express train is the most popular option. If you prefer the flexibility of stops or are traveling with a group, booking a private car with a chauffeur is a good choice.
